First Step Initiative ...
Is a Minnesota-based micro finance organization operating in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Our work centers on providing financing for small business enterprises of the very poor.
I welcomed the opportunity to use my talents for another passion, assisting girls, women & Mother Nature around the world. This special project is First Step Initiative, where I believe we captured the determination and resilience of the women to inspire us and make us realize that we can all help women start their journey out of poverty by investing in their dreams to become self-reliant. - Sheryl VanderPol

Talk about Inspiration-! Artwork that grows with your child

My first grandchild Piper Joy was born in Janurary, and what an inspiration she is. Because the parents chose not to find out the gender before birth, we waited until now to create the perfect room! We combined the colors and design style of the bedding, with the ideas that make everyone in the room smile. Creating a happy garden along with a brown vining design that highlights her name...Piper Joy...and what a joy she is!

We will add art such as bunnies and butterflies as she begins to talk and her personality develops.

Extreme Makeover-Home Edition

Untapped Resource and Sheryl VanderPol are pleased to contribute our time and talents to the Extreme Makeover Home Edition that appeared here in our local metro. The experience of giving from the whole community was amazing! We painted the murals in the children’s rooms so the designers could accomplish the miracle in just a few days. The program aired on Thanksgiving weekend 2007.
